HOLIDAY PUFF PASTRY ROLL
This golden puff pastry roll is the perfect center piece to any party. Filled with ham, a hint of pesto and cheese that all gets baked into a savory and crisp puff pastry roll. Crunchy and cheesy with a hint of sweetness if you add the raisins. So many flavors and textures to this masterpiece. INGREDIENTS
1 Large Puff Pastry Sheets
2 Tablespoon Of Dijon Mustard
1 Tablespoon Of Store Bought Or Homemade Pesto
5 Slices Of Deli Style Ham, Mortadella Or Smoked Ham, Thin Cut
5 Slices Of Deli Style Gouda, Mozzarella Or Muenster Cheese
3 Tablespoons Of Raisins, Optional
1 Small Egg, Whisked
Salt
Ground Black Pepper
What You’ll Need
- Pastry Or Cooking Brush
- Small Spoon
- Large Baking Sheet Or Cookie Sheet
- Parchment Paper, Silicone Baking Mat Or Wax Paper
- Small Bowl
PREPARATION
- Preheat The Oven To 350 Degrees Fahrenheit.
- Using Parchment Paper, Wax Paper Or Silicone Matt. Add Your Pastry Sheet Onto It.
- Brush The Sheet With The Dijon Mustard.
- Place One Layer Of Ham On The Entire Surface Lining Them Up Equally.
- Spoon Your Pesto Onto The Layered Ham And Spread Evenly.
- Place Your Slices Of Cheese Onto The Pesto And Ham, Lining Them Up Equally.
- Evenly Distribute Your Raisin, Optional.
- Roll Up The Puff Pastry Like A Cinnamon Roll Or Swiss Roll, Starting From One Edge And Ending On The Other Edge, Roll Tightly.
- Shape Into A Ring And Bring The Two Ends Together. Lightly Pinch The Edges Together.
- Brush The Pastry With Your Whisked Egg And Sprinkle The Top With A Bit Of Salt And Ground Pepper.
- Grab The Ends Of The Baking Paper, Silicon Matt Or Wax Paper And Move The Pastry Ring To Your Large Baking Sheet Or Cookie Sheet.
- Bake For 30 Minutes Or Until Puff Pastry Is Golden Brown.
- Once Out Of The Oven Let It Cool On The Tray, About 5-7 Minutes.
- Slice It Up To Your Desired Preference And Serve
