EASY HOLIDAY BUTTER COOKIE
THESE QUICK HOLIDAY COOKIES ARE CRISP, BUTTERY AND NOT OVERLY SWEET. THESE BUTTER COOKIES ONLY NEED 4 INGREDIENTS, NO MIXER REQUIRED AND NO EGGS OR MILK. PERFECT COOKIES TO MAKE AT HOME AND SUCH A FUN WAY TO MAKE IT WITH FAMILY OR FRIENDS. THIS RECIPE IS ONE PASSED DOWN TO ME BY MY AUNT IVETT, SHE IS THE BAKING QUEEN OF THE FAMILY AND I TOOK ON THIS RECIPE TO MAKE EVERY YEAR TO SHARE WITH MY LOVED ONES. COOKIE TUTORIAL
MAKES 40 - 45 MINI DROP COOKIES
INGREDIENTS
3 STICKS OF BUTTER, ROOM TEMPERATURE (1 ½ CUPS)
3 CUPS OF ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
1 CUP OF MAIZENA/CORNSTRACH
1 CUP OF POWDERED SUGAR
1 TABLESPOON OF COLD WATER
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- EXTRA LARGE DEEP BOWL
- SIFTER OR MESH STRAINER
- MEASURING SPOON – 1 TABLESPOON
- SILICONE MATT, FOIL OR PARCHMENT PAPER
- 3 LARGE COOKIE SHEETS OR BAKING SHEETS
PREPARATION
- PRE-HEAT YOUR OVEN TO 300 DEGREES F.
- ADD IN YOUR 3 STICKS OF ROOM TEMPERATURE BUTTER INTO THE BOWL.
- PLACE YOUR SIFTER ABOVE THE BOWL AND SIFT YOUR FLOUR ONTO THE BUTTER.
- SIFT YOUR CORNSTRACH AND POWDERED SUGAR ONTO THE FLOUR AND BUTTER AS WELL.
- MIX WITH YOUR HANDS UNTIL ALL IS WELL MIXED, ADD IN YOUR ONE TABLESPOON OF COLD WATER AND KNEAD THE DOUGH UNTIL YOU FORM A BALL.
- LINE 3 LARGE COOKIE SHEETS OR BAKING SHEETS WITH YOUR SILICONE MATT, FOIL OR PARCHMENT PAPER.
- CREATE A ONE TABLESPOON SIZED COOKIE DOUGH BALL. GENTLY ROLL YOUR BALL IN BETWEEN YOUR PALMS AND THEN FLATTEN COOKIES INTO A THICK DISK-SHAPED FORM. USING YOUR INDEX FINGER CREATE A DIMPLE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COOKIE. TURN YOUR COOKIE OVER DIMPLE SIDE DOWN AND ADD IT ONTO YOUR BAKING OR COOKIE SHEET. REPEAT UNTIL ALL THE COOKIES ARE MADE.
- PLACE IN YOUR OVEN AND BAKE FOR 15 TO 20 MINUTES OR UNTIL THEY FORM A LIGHT GOLDEN COLOR.
- ONCE BAKED REMOVE THEM FROM THE OVEN AND ALLOW THEM TO COOL FOR 40-45 MINUTES.
