Sauteed Cinnamon Apples

Serves 5-6 Sweets Sauteed Cinnamon Apples

Ingredients
  • 2 Cups of apples {peeled, cored, and sliced ½ thick}
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 Teaspoon of 5-spice powder
  • ½ Cup of sugar
  • ½ Cup of apple juice
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ Teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 1 Tablespoon of maple syrup
Preparation

In a medium sauté pan add in the apple juice, cinnamon sticks, 5-spice powder, sugar and apples. Cook the apples at a high simmer for 7-10 minutes; stir occasonally. Once cooked add in the cinnamon powder, salt and maple. Stir and discard the cinnamon sticks. Serve and enjoy!

Tip- You can use this as a side to a pork dish or a simply dessert dish with a side of ice cream or whipped cream.
