Jasmine Rice

Serves 4-5 Sides Jasmine Rice

Ingredients
  • 2 Cups of jasmine rice
  • 4 Cups of water
  • 1 Teaspoon of garlic {minced}
  • ¼ Cup of spanish or white onion {chopped}
  • 1 Tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 Teaspoon of salt {to liking}
Preparation

In a colander or chinois wash the 2 cups of rice and set aside. In a medium pot pour in the olive oil and turn the heat to medium-high. Add in the onions and garlic. Saute the mix until translucent. Place in the uncooked rice and stir. Pour in the four cups of water plus the teaspoon of salt and mix. Let it cook without a lid, until the top of the rice has created holes {5-6 minutes}, when that happens stir the rice and place a lid on top. Set your stovetop on low-heat and let it cook for 6-8 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
