Ingredients

1 Large semi-ripe banana [slice lengthwise with skin on & tips removed]

1 Tablespoon of coconut oil [pour in a small bowl]

1/8 Teaspoon of ground clove

1 Tablespoon of brown sugar or Turbinado sugar

¼ Teaspoon of cinnamon powder

Optional Toppings When Platting

Freeze dried strawberry slices [as seen on picture]

Goji berries

Fresh berries

Ice cream or yogurt [to liking]

Tools

Grill pan or medium sauté pan

Pastry brush or cooking brush

2 Small bowl

Preparation

Start by placing your grill pan or sauté pan onto the stovetop at a medium-high heat. Once the pan gets hot, dab your cooking brush into the coconut oil bowl and start by brushing your whole pan with the oil; this will prevent the bananas from sticking [quick tip before placing your bananas in the pan brush both sides with more of the coconut oil]. Place your bananas onto the hot pan skin side up, letting your bananas cook for about 2-3 minutes. Meanwhile place your spices and sugar into a small bowl. Mix the spices with your fingers to release the oils and set aside. Flip your bananas over [skin side down] and start by sprinkling the tops of the bananas with your sugar and spice mixture. Let the sugar cook and melt over the crevasses of the bananas, this takes 2-3 minutes. Once the sugar melts, carefully transfer the fosters bananas onto a plate and serve with your preferred topping!
