Quick Tips On Office OrganizationLifestyle
Clutter can sometimes get in the way of work! I am always on the mission to revamp and declutter my space. I hope these tips can help you clear your canvas and even help you find some forgotten treasures along the way.
- Shelving & Going Vertical
To much leftover wall space is a great way to use wall shelving units, specially at eyelevel on top of any desk, wall or counter space. Once they have been installed make sure to organize your items vertically hence this will give you more room to store more books, props etc. If you don’t have a wall unit you can purchase a shelve unit furniture that fits on to your wall space.
- Leftover Jars & Containers
If you have enough room on top of your desk or counters go for storing items in mason jars, candle jars or containers. I like storing my items in clear mason jars filled with pins, rubber bands and even phone chargers; all in separate categories. You can even decorate your containers or jars with chalkboard label stickers, accessories and even spray paint for easy themed containers.
-Create Designated Stations
Make every part of your office or room into stations (categories).
For example my office has a wall storage unit stationed on one of my walls this category is for all my props including plates, forks and linens; another part of my wall focuses on just lighting materials for my photography including my cameras, lighting bulbs and reflectors. My last section is my lounge/storage this is for my guest to sit down comfortably and also utilizing max space above their heads with a single wall shelve unit which I display my certificates and decorative items.
-Mark All Your Items
When organizing all your items make sure you label them; an easy go to tip is purchasing chalkboard label stickers this will enable you to erase and rewrite your assigned title.
-Don’t Waste Space
Do you have a walk in door or pantry by your studio make sure you use the non-visible side of the door to place some decorative nails or push pins to hang up any linens, aprons or hanged items.
-Before Leaving Work
Make sure you set apart at least thirty minutes before leaving work to organize and clean your stations. It’s convenient for you to take the time and declutter before leaving. You’ll be glad to comeback into the office clutter free.
When purchasing furniture I tend to go for a minimalistic approach when selecting for a studio or office. Easier cleanup, more visibility to see items and you get more room when there isn’t big clunky furniture all around.
