Molasses-Soy Turkey Breast

Ingredients

Hot Brine

1 {4-5Lbs.} Bone-in turkey breast

2 Liters of coca cola

1 Tablespoon of cinnamon {ground}

1 Tablespoon of clove {ground}

2 Tablespoons of star anise {whole}

2 Tablespoons of soy sauce

2 Tablespoons of worcestershire sauce

2 Tablespoons of salt

2 Tablespoons of allspice {whole}

3 Cinnamon sticks

 

Basting Sauce

4 Tablespoons of molasses

2 Tablespoons of brown sugar

1 Tablespoon of honey

3 Tablespoons of soy sauce

1 Tablespoon of worcestershire sauce

Preparation

 Preheat your oven to 400F. 

       In a large deep pot {or stock pot} add in the 2 liters of cola. Add in all the spices and finally the turkey breast {submerge in cola}. Turn the heat to high and cook it at a rolling boil for  35-40 minutes. Once cooked, drain the cola water and set turkey aside to rest for 5-10. Place a roasting rack on top of a large sheet pan and place the cooled turkey on top of the rack. In a medium bowl add in the molasses, brown sugar, honey, soy sauce and worcestershire sauce. Whisk until all is combined. Brush the turkey with the basting sauce and place it in the oven for 12-15 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
